Eeeeeemmmmmaaaaiiiillll

Well another week down i guess. This week was a little weird but fun. 

I went to Latvia.

yeah it was fun. i needed to renew my visa and so i went to Riga (its a city in lavia). we only had an hour until our return flight so we didnt leave the airport but still it was cool. i ate the biggest apple of my whole life and bought a magnet. says RIGA on it.

other than that, nothing super exciting happened, other than the senior missionary here was interrogated because some doofus wrote an anonymous letter saying he was a spy... Rediculous. the guy is like 80 and broke his back last year. 
I love him with all my heart.

anyway all's well that ends well. and everything is cool now. other than president doesnt want us talking to people on the street for a while. its way hard. i feel like we are totally handicapped in the work. its ok tho its not forever.

Our investigators are doing well. the one that wants to get baptized has to get married first but we are working on it. its a long story but a good one. maybe i'll tell it to you sometime.

Hey everyone. so this week was great. We went out and hit the streets pretty hard talking to people and trying to find someone who is ready to recieve the Gospel of Christ. 

Elder Duty is fearless. he talks to everyone i point him to. which is everyone hahahaaha and he doesnt complain. 

its really fun to serve with him.

Our investigators are good and bad. Some are having a very hard time with individual problems with the doctrine and we are working to overcome and answere their questions. it takes time but its ok because the coolest thing is... i know all the answers are there. 

Its all true. its that simple.

This week was fast and testimony meeting and i bore my testimony. It was good i feel like the lord gives me more language ability when i am teaching his gospel. it was appropriate too because i was testifying of the language of the spirit. I am learning two languages right now. Russian, and the language that we all need to speak, the language of the Holy Ghost. 

He speaks to all of us. we just need to learn to listen.

we saw a lot of miracles this week. i dont have time to tell you about them all but heres one.

 WE met an old inactive member last monday while we were going to get groceries. He grabbed our number and said he wanted to come to church. Later in the week (saturday) he called us and brought a friend to a meeting. we did a good first lesson and his friend looked very interested. It was a miracle. way cool.

Woah. Training.

Ok. so what have i been doing. there were transfers. which means that my beloved russian companion went home. His last words were

"russians are like pinapples, hard and poky on the out side but soft and exotic on the inside"

what a guy. i miss him. 

But i got a new companion. Elder Duty. He just got her from america which means i am training him. He's like obi'wan and i am Qui Gon Jin.

here is what i told my mission president about him.

Elder Duty is a little bundle of joy. The kid's brilliant. He isnt very confident in his russian yet but he just talks to people anyway. He's going to do great things and i have high expectations for him. He is so sincere. i am learning a ton from him in our companionship studies and he is humble enough to listen to me as well. Elder Duty has a great testimony and isnt afraid to share it. Its fantastic.
For our story I'll tell you about the trip here. It was pretty funny. So after i gathered about 200 pounds worth of mail and missionary supplies and we got ahold of everyone that was going to Nihzny we set off to the train station. We had about an hour for the trip but it was Rush hour in the Moscow Metro and that means Madness...
Luckily Elder Steele, Doane, and the New senior couple came to our aid. without them there would have been no way we would have made the train with all the luggage and other stuff we had. things got interesting when Elder Steele essentially called a free for all in the metro on account of companions with luggage move faster than a huge group of people with luggage... when we tried to get on the first metro we lost Jepson. and Elder Duty lost his shoe! it was hilarious but i was too stessed out to laugh. Eventually we all met up at the train station and got on the train with 15 minutes to spare. Dont worry everyone were in companionships the whole time. (Steele found Jepson and helped him).

Holidays..

we basically partied all week this week. only had like four lessons...

sucked. i hated it.

it was fun tho we had christmas at the senior couples house and new years with the other elders. New years night in russia means four hours of pure fireworks. i thought we were getting bombed... its crazy.

then we ate a lot of food. 

with armanians. i love armanians.

I saw the nutcracker this week. It was way good. Ballerinas are pretty.

So Christmas was awesome. best part was getting to see my family. Hunter is stylish, jake is Huge, My dad is gandalf, my mom is a superhero and mady and cory are...

Anyway I feel bad that i dont get to write all of you personally each week. Its way good to hear from you guys especially the family. That means you Dano, and my brothers.

this week i want to talk about how great it is to have the priesthood and to be able to give blessings. I gave my district leader a blessing this week because we was struggling. sometimes the work gets to ya. anyway i just have the hugest testimony of Blessings under the authority of god by the laying on of hands.

for those of you who arent LDS a blessing is an ordinace in which a man who is authorized to speak and act in the name of Jesus christ blesses a person by putting his hands on the persons head, speaking in the name of jesus christ. (i know that was vague, for a better definition look it up on LDS.org)

Anywho, i know that the blessing helped elder beils and i feel way blessed to be the one he asked to give the blessings. that makes two times that a district member has turned to me for a blessing. Its really cool to be the one people turn to for help. Makes me feel like a true disciple of christ.

All is good here. its not even cold.

Elder Memot

Those Russian missionaries. They baptize people.

Wow last saturday was our investigator's baptism. Him and a woman from the neighboring branch were both baptized that day and it was UNREAL. honestly i have never felt so purely happy in my life. 

Our friend... lets call him Frodo...

Frodo was literally glowing after his baptism. the next day he came to church in a white shirt and tie and after receiving the Gift of The Holy Ghost he gave me a smile i will never forget.

There is no greater work than the work of God. There is no greater feeling than helping a brother find the true and everlasting gospel of Christ. We all bore our testimonies afterward and i couldnt even speak haha let alone in Russian...

Elder Kuz'min, my new Russian Companion and i get along like bros. hes a super cool guy and way old in the mission. Its actually his last transfer before he goes home. I really enjoy serving with this guy. And he knows how to cook so we have been eating different things than spagetti every day haha.

It snows a lot here but its not THAT cold. I have a really nice hat too.

If i didnt send some of you personal emails this week im sorry i promise to do so next week.  Its really great to hear from you all. 

That has seriously been one of my greatest blessings here in russia. Hearing all of the good things happening back home.

I love all you Guys and i cant wait to skype home for Christmas.
